Vuosaaren lukio

A new general upper secondary school is being built in Vuosaari. This page is dedicated to the documenting of this construction. Please note this is my personal project which is not commissioned by anyone. I am interested in the changing urban landscape and as it so happens I live quite close by and frequently pass this area on my way to the adjoining urheiluhallit.fi for swimming.
I plan on updating this page with new photos every once in a while (I haven’t decided on an interval yet). I will have one photo always taken with the same specifications (lat/long value and height) in order to provide a comparable photo over time. The building is scheduled to be ready for use by August 2021. Expect a few photos…

Background: on February 7 2019 the Urban Environment Division of the City of Helsinki handled the case of the new upper secondary school and on May 7 the city signed a contract (1) with YIT and Caverion on the implementation. More detailed info on this project is available on the city’s page (2).
